ASSESS
The only way to determine if change is necessary is to assess an existing property. Assessments can include looking at deferred maintenance items, capitol needs, operations and maintenance practices, or it can focus on opportunities to improve the sustainability or health-promoting aspects of a built environment.
IMPROVE
Improvement recommendations are scaled based on the needs of the client, the organizational support for change, and the budget allocated for physical or policy changes. No organization is too small, or has too little resources, to create meaningful changes to their built environment to support the health of the environment, and the health of their employees.
CERTIFY
Certification can be a useful measure of improvement, and can be an indicator that an organization is committed to the health of the environment and the health of their employees. Through LEED O+M Certification, an organization can show their ongoing commitment to operating their building/space in a manner that is based on the sustainable practices developed by the US Green Building Council. Through WELL Building Certification or Fitwel Certification, a company can demonstrate their commitment to creating and operating buildings/spaces that support the health and well-being of building occupants.
